All digital signage units must be installed in a common subnet with the following characteristics:
- DHCP is available
- DHCP assigns at least one DNS server
- UDP Broadcast is available
- In addition to this, the Render Engine must have access to the internet and the below listed ip-ranges and ports.
Network Load
The amount of data that the Render Engine retrieves from the internet varies with the number
of slides to be displayed. A rule of thumb is 2 MB per product shown. Additional screens showing
the same material does not demand an increase in network
connection bandwidth.
Connecting player hardware to wireless network
Broadcasting SSID
The wireless network needs to have Broadcasting SSID
The wireless network needs to have WPA2-PSK encryption with passphrase (open unencrypted
networks will not work)
The wireless network needs to have proper and stable signal strength.
The two Wi-Fi antennas included with the player hardware must be mounted.
Furthermore, if the SSID or the passphrase is changed the player hardware must be
reconfigured.
